OUR RATING SYSTEM
Want to know how we rate the books we read? We use a 5-Point Rating system, based on the following criteria:
1. Book Cover – Does the book cover draw us in and make us want to read the book? 1 to 5 points.
2. Plot & Storyline – Is the plot original, and does it have a believable storyline that moves at a good pace? 1 to 5 points.
3. Age-Appropriate – Is the book a good fit for its intended audience? 1 to 5 points.
4. Illustrations – Do the illustrations “pop,” and do they help tell the story? 1 to 5 points.
5. Layout/Design – Does the page layout and overall book design work well? 1 to 5 points.
6. EXTRA – The “WOW FACTOR” – Picture Book Depot comes across all types of beautifully-illustrated books, but some books have that extra “oomph;” that little something we call The WOW FACTOR that makes for an unforgettable read. We determine the WOW FACTOR on a scale of 1 to 5 points.
**NOTE: This EXTRA “WOW FACTOR” criteria pushes the most outstanding books to the front of the line.
